(If you’ve been living under a rock, or on a REALLY long camping trip with no Internet service), you can read ALSC’s statement on the change here. I decided to read it again, because it is relevant to a lot of discussion that is happening right now regarding ALSC changing the name of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award. It wouldn’t surprise me if I suddenly remembered throwing it down in the middle of the story and starting something else. I didn’t think much happened, and I thought it was boring. I think I read it when I was 7 or 8, and I’m not even sure that I finished it then. It has been a looooong time since I read this book.
